PRODUCT INFORMATION

A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE

Designed for the longest rides in mixed weather conditions. LinkLube Premium All-Weather uses the same scientific approach as our much loved LinkLube All-Weather, but dials the quality of the ingredients up to 11.

With the same chain-cleaning properties as our standard all-weather lube, the milky-white LinkLube Premium penetrates deep inside the chain and replaces moisture, grit & grime with a long-lasting blend of oils, waxes and non toxic nano-particles.

Why 30% Longer?

All-Weather Premium has been ridden over thousands of miles of testing and development over the last couple of years by our motley crew of riders and product testers. Over these miles of real-world testing, they have found that on average it lasted 30% longer in the same conditions as our standard All-Weather LinkLube.

Through the first wave of lockdown, Paralympic gold medalist Steve Bate was using the latest formulation back to back comparing it to our standard LinkLube All-Weather.

During his epic 1,000 mile turbo trainer ride over ten days, the results showed that All Weather Premium lasted a massive 500 miles before wearing out. In comparison, LinkLube All-Weather standard lasted 380 miles in the same controlled conditions showing a 31.5% increase in durability.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Always fully degrease your drivetrain before applying fresh lube. For best results, use Peaty's Drivetrain Degreaser.
  2. Ensure you thoroughly wash your chain with clean water after degreasing (degreaser is designed to eat chain oil after all)
  3. Remove as much water as you can from the chain. For best results, use Peaty's PT17 General Maintenance Spray.
  4. Give the bottle a good shake
  5. Apply the lube while cycling the chain backwards (eBikes will need to be pedalled forwards in a stand) ensuring every link is adequately covered
  6. Keep cycling the chain for 10 seconds or so to help the lube work its way into your chain
  7. Thoroughly wipe away all excess lube from your chain using a clean cloth (excess oil on the outside of the chain will attract dust in dry conditions).

CAUTION
Do not get LinkLube (or any lube for that matter!) on your brakes or brake pads.

FAQS

What type of lubricant is best for bike chains?

The basic requirements for a bicycle chain lubricant is for it to keep your chain quiet and smooth while also lasting a long time and keeping your drivetrain clean as possible. The best type of chain lubricant for a bicycle depends heavily on the weather and conditions you are riding in.

For dry and dusty conditions you need our LinkLube Dry chain lubricant which uses durable waxes for a long lasting smooth drivetrain. It also dries dry to the touch so that dust and dirt won’t stick to the chain.

For mixed and changeable (but not soaking wet) conditions our LinkLube All Weather uses a unique blend of waxes and greases to keep you rolling smooth in a wide variety of riding conditions. For even cleaner, longer-lasting performance try our LinkLube All Weather Premium.

For the wettest, filthiest riding conditions you need a chain lubricant which will not wash away at the first sight of a puddle. Our LinkLube Wet has a heavy dose of waxes and corrosion inhibitors to last even the longest, wettest day in the saddle.

Why does LinkLube All Weather settle out into two parts?

The white stuff in LinkLube All Weather Premium is a compound of greases, waxes and a tiny amount of PTFE. The compound doesn’t settle out as easily - but - can still settle a bit if sat for a long time so just shake vigorously to get it back into suspension before applying.

How do you apply lubricant to a bike chain?

Do I need to clean off excess lubricant?

Yes, for All Weather and Wet lubricants, thoroughly wipe away all excess lube from your chain using a clean cloth. Excess oil on the outside of the chain will attract dust in dry conditions.

For dry lubricants you don’t need to wipe away any excess because dry lubricants remain dry to the touch so will not attract dust.

Why do I need to use chain lubricant?

A good chain lubricant will reduce friction between chain and chainrings, improve shifting performance, reduce dirt build-up so make your drivetrain last longer, prevent corrosion, provide smoother, quieter, easier pedalling and either not wash away easily (if wet lubricant) or not attract dust or dirt (if dry lubricant)... In short, yes.

Does the chain lubricant clean my chain?

Our unique two-part All Weather formula penetrates and cleans deep inside your chain, driving out moisture, grit and grime and replacing them with a unique blend of oils and waxes. Yes, you read that correctly! LinkLube All Weather actually cleans your chain as you use it!

When LinkLube All Weather is first applied to a used (but seemingly clean) drivetrain, the chain may go black pretty quick. Uh oh, don’t panic! This is actually the LinkLube All Weather pushing out the grime that has been hiding away inside your rollers. Simply keep degreasing and re-applying and, over a few rides, your chain will eventually run truly clean once again!

Do I need to clean by drivetrain before use?

Yes, we recommend using our Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser to thoroughly clean your chain before application. For new chains with stubborn factory grease we recommend using our XXX Solvent Degreaser.

Can I use this chain lube in dry conditions?

For best results in very dry conditions we recommend Peaty’s LinkLube Dry.

Can I use this chain lube in wet conditions?

For best results in wet conditions we recommend Peaty’s LinkLube Wet.

Do I apply lubricant to my cassette?

You don’t need to apply lubricant to your cassette.

Seems to work well

I prefer to use the MucOff ceramic lube where possible in dry weather but in wet conditions when MTBing etc you need something a bit more robust. This works at least as well as the 'wet' version of the mucoff chain lube that I've used previously, no complaints.

Great lube for your bike chain

I only applied once so far and it feels great when shifting gears the derailer feels great but I was a bit skeptical about this until I read some reviews and some videos

Keeps chain lubed up in all weather & easy to use

My partner loves Peaty! Apparently he is "the legend of the mountain bike world", Steve Peat. We've had loads of his other bike bits over the years, so when my partner saw this lube he knew it would be good quality so wanted to try it.Pros:• High quality: after a chain clean, he applied this lube and it made his chain super slick• All weather lube: no need to have multiple lubes, it works in all weathers• Designed and made in the UK: tested in UK weather by the guys up north• Twisty cap applicator: the cap just twists up to let you squeeze the lube out, and twists back on when you're done, so no risk of losing the capCons:• None at all!He loves this lube, it's now in his car kit of tools and bits ready to be used whenever he needs it. It's been great for both his mountain bike and fixed gear, and is better than other lubes he's used, and it hasn't dried out at all. Highly recommended and at a fantastic price too.

Very good chain lube

SummaryGood product - will be using all year roundThicknessI noticed that the lube comes out of the bottle a bit like a thin gel. I have only used chain oil before so wasn't sure about its' performance. However, I was pleasantly surprised as I felt the difference on my road bike - although it was slightly overdue a service.CapacityI expect to get several seasons out of this bottle so it is good value for money too.

Good chain lube that is easy to apply

We’ve had our ebikes for just a few months, we’ve done a few hundred miles, and I was surprised how dirty the chains were. I cleaned the chain with a chain cleaner and some degreaser and applied the Peaty’s lube. The lube is runnier than the usual oil I use but it was easy to apply and I particularly liked the twist top dispenser, far easier than the usual spout and cap arrangement. I wiped off any excess and went for a ride and I could tell that the chain was more flexible and quieter and has continued to be so for the last few rides out. Considering the cost of our bikes it makes sense to use a good quality chain lube, which this is, and I’m happy to recommend it.

Easy to apply and lasts well

Using my bike to commute everyday means the weather really takes a toll on the gears and chain. Having tried a variety of different lubricants and grease I have been pretty impressed with this so far. It’s easy to apply and comes out in a fairly thick consistency but quickly gets absorbed between the chain links so I haven’t had any issue getting this to coat the entire chain. The bottle keeps my hands clean with a twist lock cap.Once on the bike it keeps the chain well oiled and seems to be a good balance between summer and winter uses. It doesn’t fling off and dry out but doesn’t collect too much grit from the road.In my opinion this is a great option for all round use or occasional application and offers good value for money for how long it lasts.

My Favourite 'Lube'

Peaty's Unisex's Link Lube All-Weather Premium Lubricant.I have been a Peaty's lube fanboy for quite a while now, and I've never been disappointed. This premium all-weather chain lubricant is excellent. I'm not sure what makes Peaty's lube different from others, but there is definitely a difference in my opinion. My chain & gears run a lot smoother and almost silently.[3 images attached]

If you’re wondering give it a go!

Now the grounds dried out a lot this lube comes into its own. It doesn’t seem to attract dust and dirt and keeps the drivetrain looking clean. Smooth as gear shifting gets and not overly expensive either. Good work crew!

I’ve only done 35 miles using it but it seems good. It will be tested over the next 3 weeks as my brother and I are cycling the Lejog route from Edinburgh to Inverness then back to Edinburgh down the East coast. I’ll let you know how it performs.

My go to year round lube unless it’s going to be

My go to year round lube unless it’s going to be an all day ride in biblical rain then I’ll just slap on the Peatys Wet. I must admit I sometimes/often get lazy post ride and just lock the bike up in the garage. With this lube I can honestly say I’ve never developed a rusty chain either. Chain runs really quietly and wear rates and pick up of any crud are all really good hence I’ve stuck with it.

This works great on my bike. My only complaint is that the lid does not close as easily as expected. I thought it was completely closed and then it go tipped over only to leak a bunch of oil all over the place. I picked it up a day later and lookin at it, tu coils not tell that the lid was slightly loose. I had to give it a hard turn for it to come rey seal and it is now shut.

After trying many variations of chain lube(dry, ceramic, wet and semi wax) this one really works! Doesn't collect a lot of dust, super quiet drive train and shifts great! If you are using a used chain be sure to clean it thoroughly. The chain will bleed black the first couple times you apply the lube if the chain isn't clean or new.
