WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND YOUR XXX SOLVENT DEGREASER?
While our Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser is formulated to be aggressive on chain lubricants and everyday dirt and grime, it will not attack waterproof bearing greases. For maximum punch, our XXX Solvent Degreaser has been formulated to quickly and easily remove all bearing greases, factory greases, waxes and oils.
So to summarise:
Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser for regular drivetrain cleaning and degreasing without stripping precious bearing greases.
XXX Solvent Degreaser for badass removal of all greases and waxes.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Apply liberally to the cassette while cycling the chain backwards, building up a thick layer of foam.
- Apply directly to any other areas not already coated such as crank arms, derailleur bodies or jockey wheels.
- If you have a bike stand, run through all of your gears several times to agitate the grime.
- Agitate any stubborn areas where needed with a brush then leave to soak for two minutes.
- Rinse off thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry the chain using a clean cloth.
- Apply Peaty's LinkLube

Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser vs XXX Solvent Degreaser?
Our Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser is safe to regularly degrease your drivetrain as it does not eat away at your bearing grease. If you need some extra power, want to remove factory grease from a new chain, or want to strip your bearings to reapply grease, grab yourself some XXX Solvent Degreaser. It makes light work of any wet lubes formulated with waterproof greases, factory chain grease and bearing grease, leaving your chain or bearings ready for a refresh.
Will this remove grease from my bearings?
No, our powerful biodegradable formula has been designed to be tough on grime and natural grease for fast and powerful drivetrain degreasing, while remaining kind to the rest of your bike and the environment.

Are there any chain lubes it won’t work on?
All of the Peaty’s LinkLube range work great with our Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser. Any other brands of wet lubes which use marine-grade/ waterproof grease as part of their formulation will need a solvent degreaser like our XXX Solvent Degreaser to remove it. Our Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser has been specially formulated to be tough on chain lubes and grime without needing to be solvent-based which (with regular use) would attack your precious bearing greases.

Forgot to take a pic of my gunked up cassette before cleaning but it was bad. I usually use mucoff but fancied a change. Gotta say this is way better.

Swapping to wax based lube so needed a clean drivetrain. Both road and MTB were filthy after a wet winter of riding and throwing wet lube on without proper cleaning... as the pictures show came up lovely and shiny and clean!

Stripped my 12 speed chainset and gave it a proper deep clean.Really easy to use and biodegradable so just rinse off with hose pipe.Very impressed with finished result. Now need to buy rest of peatys range 😁👍

Decided to give this a shot, as I bought the Peaty LoamFoam. This stuff works a treat, cleaning the drivetrain with ease. Quite satisfying watching the white foam remove the dirt from your chain and cassette. Was bit concerned reading past reviews, but it came well packed with the trigger, so no issues there. This is the stuff to have on the shelf.Go Peaty!

Great low effort cleaner for cassettes etc. love this stuff as it cleans whatever lube I’ve used, but doesn’t leech into and damage jockey wheel bearings etc like some other brands. Spray on, scrub about with a brush, rinse off, simple as that for a clean drivetrain. Doesn’t smell of chemicals either so can be used in the workshop without melting your synapses…
