PRODUCT INFORMATION

MK2, WHAT's NEW?

Still made from lightweight anodised 7075 aluminium as standard, our new MK2 tubeless valves are now compatible with all rim inserts and come with a spoke key cap as well as a valve core removal cap.

That's right ... the best just got even better!

INSERT COMPATIBLE BASE

The addition of a unique four-way x-cut base to enables our valves to now work with all tyre inserts.

The channels cut into the base of the valve allow air and sealant to pass through when inserts are pushed up against them.

Unlike most other insert-compatible valves, our valves have a ‘straight-through’ design so there’s no reduction of sealant or air flow when tyre inserts are not used.

All of this with no added weight!

SPOKE KEY CAP

Our MK2 valves now come with a world-first spoke key presta valve cap!

The spoke key is sized for standard 3.4mm spoke nipples and is the perfect tool for tightening loose spokes in trailside emergencies.

To use, simply unscrew the cap, slot your spoke through the gap in the top of the cap and slide down the spoke until the cap fits over your spoke nipple.

VALVE CORE REMOVER CAP

Whether you're in the workshop or out on the trail, our valve core remover caps help to quickly remove the valve core to deflate the tyre or top up with sealant.

To de-core the valve, all you need to do is:

  1. Unscrew the valve cap
  2. Slot the valve cap over the valve core
  3. Twist anticlockwise until the core can be pulled out
  4. Repeat in reverse to refit

BIT O'BLING

You can now mix and match the colour of your valve stem with contrasting lock rings and caps with our new Accessory Kits. Check them out here

MX VALVES

We designed our MX valves to suit all Bosch eMTB bikes with a rear rim speed sensor - a world first!
The mix of a 60mm rear and 42mm front valve gives you the added length required for the perfect setup.

WHAT SIZE DO I NEED?

Our MK2 valves come in 42mm, 60mm and 80mm lengths. This means that whatever the depth of your rim, we have valves to fit your needs.

As a rough guide, we recommend:

  • MTB, Urban and XC rims: 42mm
  • Road rims: 60mm
  • Deep Section Road rims: 80mm

We recommend there to be around 15mm of valve stem sticking out from your rim - ultimately depending on the insertion depth required by your pump head.

The exact fitment would vary on how much of a dip there is in the rim bed. Some rims also have a recessed valve hole on the inside of the rim to reduce the length of the valve required.

You can check these lengths by:

  • Poking a long thin object (like a spare spoke) through your valve hole then measuring the distance from the lowest point where the valve will sit into the rim to where the valve exits the rim.
  • Measure the insertion depth your pump head by pushing your existing valve into the pump then marking where the valve stem exits the base of the pump head when pushed fully inside.
  • Add the first measurement to the second measurement and if this is less than 60mm then you should be fine.

Always measure your rims before purchasing or contact your rim manufacturer for further recommendations.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Remove the valve cap, O-ring and lock nut.
  2. Insert the valve through the valve hole in your rim
  3. Push the O-ring onto the valve stem.
  4. Thread the lock nut onto the valve stem.
  5. Hand tighten the lock nut until firm.
  6. Screw on the valve cap.

HOW TO DE-CORE THE VALVE:

  1. Unscrew the valve cap
  2. Slot the valve cap over the valve core
  3. Twist anticlockwise until the core can be pulled out
  4. Repeat in reverse to refit

FAQS

Are tubeless valves universal?

Peaty’s MK2 Tubeless Valves are compatible with any rim with valve holes to suit 6mm presta valves.

Do tubeless valves work with tyre inserts?

Yes. The addition of a unique four-way x-cut base to enables our MK2 valves to work with all tyre inserts. The channels cut into the base of the valve allow air and sealant to pass through when inserts are pushed up against them. Unlike most other insert-compatible valves, our valves also have a ‘straight-through’ design so there’s no reduction of sealant or air flow when tyre inserts are not used. All of this with no added weight!

What size tubeless valves do I need?

We recommend there to be around 15mm of valve stem sticking out from your rim - ultimately depending on the insertion depth required by your pump head.

Which of our valve lengths will fit your rim best will depend on your specific rim and how much of a dip there is in the rim bed. Some rims also have a recessed valve hole on the inside of the rim to reduce the length of the valve required.

You can check these lengths by:

  1. Poking a long thin object (like a spare spoke) through your valve hole then measuring the distance from the lowest point where the valve will sit into the rim to where the valve exits the rim.
  2. Measure the insertion depth your pump head by pushing your existing valve into the pump then marking where the valve stem exits the base of the pump head when pushed fully inside.
  3. Add the first measurement to the second measurement and if this is less than 60mm then you should be fine.

If you’re still not sure then contact us and we’ll happily help you out!

Can I inject sealant through the valve stem?

We can’t speak for all types of sealant but our very own Holeshot Biofibre Tubeless Sealant can be injected directly through a de-cored valve without any issues. Simply push the 120ml trail pouch straight onto the valve stem or use the flexible injector pipe provided with our 500ml and 1L sealant packaging to inject the desired amount of sealant directly through the de-cored valve stem.

What happens if I snap a valve?

Get in touch with us through our valve warranty page and we will replace it with a new one free of charge providing you can display proof of purchase, photo of your damaged valve and a description of what happened. We’ve got your back!

Are the tubeless valves Presta or Schrader?

Peaty’s Tubeless valves are Presta valves. Presta valves are 6mm diameter whereas Schrader valves (the kind you usually see on cars) are 8mm.

How do I inflate the valves?

You can use a track pump, CO2 Tyre Inflator or air compressor to inflate your tyre through your valve.

I’m moving my valves to some new wheels but my rubbers are crushed, what do I do?

All you need here is our Tubeless Valve Service Kit to rebuild your valves like new. This kit includes two crush washers (the cone-shaped rubber bits that go on the bottom of your valve stem), two o-rings and two smoked black valve cores.

I’ve lost an o-ring from my tubeless valve, do you sell replacements?

Fear not, we sell replacement O-rings - and all other consumable parts - in our Tubeless Valve Service Kit so you can rebuild your valves like new. This kit includes two crush washers (the cone-shaped rubber bits that go on the bottom of your valve stem), two o-rings and two smoked black valve cores.

What size spoke nipple will the spoke key cap fit?

The spoke key cap is sized to fit a standard 3.4mm spoke nipple found on most mountain bikes and road bikes.

What if I have a rear rim sensor?

Our MX valves are designed to suit all Bosch eMTB bikes with a rear rim speed sensor - a world first!
The mix of a 60mm rear and 42mm front valve gives you the added length required for the perfect setup.
