PRODUCT INFORMATION

MK2, WHAT's NEW?

Still made from lightweight anodised 7075 aluminium as standard, our new MK2 tubeless valves are now compatible with all rim inserts and come with a spoke key cap as well as a valve core removal cap.

That's right ... the best just got even better!

INSERT COMPATIBLE BASE

The addition of a unique four-way x-cut base to enables our valves to now work with all tyre inserts.

The channels cut into the base of the valve allow air and sealant to pass through when inserts are pushed up against them.

Unlike most other insert-compatible valves, our valves have a ‘straight-through’ design so there’s no reduction of sealant or air flow when tyre inserts are not used.

All of this with no added weight!

SPOKE KEY CAP

Our MK2 valves now come with a world-first spoke key presta valve cap!

The spoke key is sized for standard 3.4mm spoke nipples and is the perfect tool for tightening loose spokes in trailside emergencies.

To use, simply unscrew the cap, slot your spoke through the gap in the top of the cap and slide down the spoke until the cap fits over your spoke nipple.

VALVE CORE REMOVER CAP

Whether you're in the workshop or out on the trail, our valve core remover caps help to quickly remove the valve core to deflate the tyre or top up with sealant.

To de-core the valve, all you need to do is:

  1. Unscrew the valve cap
  2. Slot the valve cap over the valve core
  3. Twist anticlockwise until the core can be pulled out
  4. Repeat in reverse to refit

BIT O'BLING

You can now mix and match the colour of your valve stem with contrasting lock rings and caps with our new Accessory Kits. Check them out here

MX VALVES

We designed our MX valves to suit all Bosch eMTB bikes with a rear rim speed sensor - a world first!
The mix of a 60mm rear and 42mm front valve gives you the added length required for the perfect setup.

WHAT SIZE DO I NEED?

Our MK2 valves come in 42mm, 60mm and 80mm lengths. This means that whatever the depth of your rim, we have valves to fit your needs.

As a rough guide, we recommend:

  • MTB, Urban and XC rims: 42mm
  • Road rims: 60mm
  • Deep Section Road rims: 80mm

We recommend there to be around 15mm of valve stem sticking out from your rim - ultimately depending on the insertion depth required by your pump head.

The exact fitment would vary on how much of a dip there is in the rim bed. Some rims also have a recessed valve hole on the inside of the rim to reduce the length of the valve required.

You can check these lengths by:

1. Place a long, thin object (such as a spare spoke) through the valve hole, holding it flush against the rim bed where the valve would sit inside the rim.
2. Pinch or mark the spoke where it meets the inner edge of the rim where the valve exits, then measure this distance. For Bosch eBike rear wheels running an external speed sensor magnet, measure to the outside of the magnet rather than the rim.
3. Add 15mm to this measurement to allow enough valve stem for pump fitment.

4. This total measurement will determine the valve size you require.

Always measure your rims before purchasing or contact your rim manufacturer for further recommendations.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Remove the valve cap, O-ring and lock nut.
  2. Insert the valve through the valve hole in your rim
  3. Push the O-ring onto the valve stem.
  4. Thread the lock nut onto the valve stem.
  5. Hand tighten the lock nut until firm.
  6. Screw on the valve cap.

HOW TO DE-CORE THE VALVE:

  1. Unscrew the valve cap
  2. Slot the valve cap over the valve core
  3. Twist anticlockwise until the core can be pulled out
  4. Repeat in reverse to refit

FAQS

Are tubeless valves universal?

Peaty’s MK2 Tubeless Valves are compatible with any rim with valve holes to suit 6mm presta valves.

Do tubeless valves work with tyre inserts?

Yes. The addition of a unique four-way x-cut base to enables our MK2 valves to work with all tyre inserts. The channels cut into the base of the valve allow air and sealant to pass through when inserts are pushed up against them. Unlike most other insert-compatible valves, our valves also have a ‘straight-through’ design so there’s no reduction of sealant or air flow when tyre inserts are not used. All of this with no added weight!

What size tubeless valves do I need?

We recommend there to be around 15mm of valve stem sticking out from your rim - ultimately depending on the insertion depth required by your pump head.

Which of our valve lengths will fit your rim best will depend on your specific rim and how much of a dip there is in the rim bed. Some rims also have a recessed valve hole on the inside of the rim to reduce the length of the valve required.

You can check these lengths by:

  1. Poking a long thin object (like a spare spoke) through your valve hole then measuring the distance from the lowest point where the valve will sit into the rim to where the valve exits the rim.
  2. Measure the insertion depth your pump head by pushing your existing valve into the pump then marking where the valve stem exits the base of the pump head when pushed fully inside.
  3. Add the first measurement to the second measurement and if this is less than 60mm then you should be fine.

If you’re still not sure then contact us and we’ll happily help you out!

Can I inject sealant through the valve stem?

We can’t speak for all types of sealant but our very own Holeshot Biofibre Tubeless Sealant can be injected directly through a de-cored valve without any issues. Simply push the 120ml trail pouch straight onto the valve stem or use the flexible injector pipe provided with our 500ml and 1L sealant packaging to inject the desired amount of sealant directly through the de-cored valve stem.

What happens if I snap a valve?

Get in touch with us through our valve warranty page and we will replace it with a new one free of charge providing you can display proof of purchase, photo of your damaged valve and a description of what happened. We’ve got your back!

Are the tubeless valves Presta or Schrader?

Peaty’s Tubeless valves are Presta valves. Presta valves are 6mm diameter whereas Schrader valves (the kind you usually see on cars) are 8mm.

How do I inflate the valves?

You can use a track pump, CO2 Tyre Inflator or air compressor to inflate your tyre through your valve.

I’m moving my valves to some new wheels but my rubbers are crushed, what do I do?

All you need here is our Tubeless Valve Service Kit to rebuild your valves like new. This kit includes two crush washers (the cone-shaped rubber bits that go on the bottom of your valve stem), two o-rings and two smoked black valve cores.

I’ve lost an o-ring from my tubeless valve, do you sell replacements?

Fear not, we sell replacement O-rings - and all other consumable parts - in our Tubeless Valve Service Kit so you can rebuild your valves like new. This kit includes two crush washers (the cone-shaped rubber bits that go on the bottom of your valve stem), two o-rings and two smoked black valve cores.

What size spoke nipple will the spoke key cap fit?

The spoke key cap is sized to fit a standard 3.4mm spoke nipple found on most mountain bikes and road bikes.

What if I have a rear rim sensor?

Our MX valves are designed to suit all Bosch eMTB bikes with a rear rim speed sensor - a world first!
The mix of a 60mm rear and 42mm front valve gives you the added length required for the perfect setup.

INSERT COMPATIBLE BASE

The addition of our unique x-cut base enables our valves to now work with all tyre inserts. Unlike most other insert-compatible valves, our valves have a ‘straight-through’ design so there’s no reduction of sealant or air flow when tyre inserts are not used.
All of this with no added weight!

VALVE CORE & SPOKE KEY CAPS

Our MK2 valves now come with both a valve core remover cap and a spoke key presta valve cap - a world first!

Good selection of colours

I've been running tubeless for a few years now, it was time to change the sealant so I decided to change the valves too. These fit nicely and seal easily against the rim. The selection of colours is good and I like the fact they do different lengths instead of leaving you stuck with just one.The valve covers double as useful items too, one is a valve remover and the other is a spoke key.If you're looking for new valves then these are definitely one to consider.

I literlly had no idea how to do it, but the straightforward guide here on amazon is easy to follow. The build quality is pretty well as well, they fit all tubeless ready rims, so aslong a your bike has tubeless rims you don't have to worry about it. There are no air leaks and they hold well, even at high speeds & bumps. Another great thing about these is that they can be used as a tool tightening loose spokes!Only remark would be about pricing, but its good quality so if you can afford it, they are definitely worth it!

Seamless installation, function perfectly

My partner is into mountain biking, and these are perfect for his bike. He is always getting flats when he's out and about and he's wanted to go tubeless for a while now, so this is a great way to finish that setup.Pros:• Trusted branding - Peaty and Chris King are reputable and known for good quality• Comes in a variety of metallic colours that compliment the bike• Solid metal body• Removable valve core for easy filling of the tyre and topping up when need be• Well thought out design; for example, has a little o ring that sits on the rim and stops the valve collar from damaging the paintwork• Valve core is removable, and the tool to do it is the dust cap• Really easy to install in minutes and form a tight seal• Had no issues with performance after a few rough ridesCons:• NoneSo overall, his bike is looking great and he's super pleased to be able to confidently ride tubeless with these. The company are trusted, for cyclists by cyclists, and the valves work well and function as expected - all for a fair price given they are branded. Highly recommended for any tubeless setup.

Superb quality and great finish. I don't think I'd use anything else

"Peaty's" is a name that I know, but not one that I've used. However, I'm quite familiar with the collaborator, on this product, with "Chris King".Chris King is, to me, one of my 'top drawer' or 'go to' choices for components, be it road or mountain bike (nope, no cyclo-cross yet, but you never know); and the Peaty's x Chris King 'Valves for Life' are no exception. They come in a simple, easy to open, blister pack (no heavy plastic packaging to fight with) and I knew they were something 'very nice' as soon as I got them to hand. The finish 'feels' just right, with all the little details 'just so' (knurled grips for fingers, smooth edges, etc.) and the anodised finish ( I opted for Navy / Blue) is flawless, with a real lustre.I've used 'cheap' (budget valves, as included in tubeless kits) before, and these are a world apart, with easier installation and good seating / fit.I've got my set pair to my Token CR45 Carbon (road) rims, and what I appreciate most is, not just the aesthetics (hey, components that 'look' right, should 'be' right?) but the tapered seat / gasket, the o-ring being properly integrated into the lock-ring and the lock-ring having a couple of flat sides; so that it can be properly tightened (and torqued). The 'valve core' removal and spoke tool, as a feature of the valve cap (one) is just the icing on the cake.Everything just feels really well made and beautifully thought out, but at a price that won't break the bank either (even less so, 'if' like my other Chris King products, they have a long service life). These are an easy on for me to recommend and I'll certainly be looking to change over my other rims, with more Peaty's x Chris King valves, when the time comes.

All good

Fitted these to my gravel bike. Easy to fit, no leaks. The value core remover, valve cap is easy to use.My only misgiving is the 'O' ring seal under the valve stem lock ring which I think could easily be lost.

Great kit

Easy to install, these Rims are 30mm and these are 42mm valves. I was worries they might be too short for these rims, but they fit fine, and there is more than enough to attach a pump.

60mm needed for Bosch speed sensor

The long 60mm valves are perfect for e-bikes where the Bosch speed sensor is fitted to the valve stem. Gives plenty of room to secure the pump.

These are EXCELLENT valves.

Can’t go wrong with Peaty’s. I have these on 3 bikes - XC, enduro, and ebike enduro. I run cushcore on two and unlike almost every other valve I’ve had in the past, these have never clogged or pressure-sealed up by the cushcore. The two tools in the caps are very handy - I’ve used them both lots of time during planned and ad-hoc trail maintenance. The look great - bit of bling too! ;-) I’ve colour matched with Burgtec kit on all the bikes and am delighted with the results.

Good quality, but pricey

Very nice quality. Easy to fit. Nifty spoke key attached which is very handy. Just not sure about the cost (currently £24.99) for the 2, but I’m hoping this means that they will be super long lasting.

Superb! No complaints

These tubeless valves are beautifully crafted. The colour finishes work well to match frame / finishing kit colour. The value is easy to fit and compatible with various wheel materials from aluminium to carbon. The core is easy to remove for sealant application and the spoke key cap is a nice touch if rarely needed. This is a quality item that is very well designed and manufactured - the age old adage applies here.... you get what you pay for and whilst these might not be the cheapest they are well worth the money!
